Politics cannot serve two Masters.

Politics cannot serve two masters......

by Patrick Lee Song Juan (Notes) on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 12:11am

Political ideology and inclination is too complex for people not in the stream to understand....Try asking why Anwar Ibrahim, why he woke up...???

Politics do not serve two masters...When you realised the people are suffering in a rich First world S'pore and you are in the very centre of happening ...what would one do?...if one has that intuition of mind to decide another course of flow...we steer our directional compass....

People who never see are the delusionaries who will always be the followers of their own fate...

If the nation cares for its citizens and old sick and give cheap medical for the people..and do not stash their own coffers...it would be foolhardy to revolt against a good master..

Even an idiot can see what is happening to S'pore....It is the greater idiots than cannot see......

And the Govt just let in foreigners like the country belongs only to the PAP...The citizens suffers the most in our daily struggle for survival and daily needs....and the PWP -(population white paper) of 6.9 million  people..as though now S'pore is not crowded enough!! Is the  Govt really practising an inclusive society with the right core value??

The elites and ministers do not open their eyes because they already are all shut...to see our sufferings...They are never in touch with the masses to feel the hardship and pressure of living....

My moving away from the core structure of the system is a right move to send a message to PAP that not all people's mind are under their ideological control...

Our destiny of life lies in our understanding of our calling for the people of S'pore...to give a voice to the "voiceless"...

Enough is enough after 52 years of totalitarian and authoritarian rule...We the dedicated must change the course of history for a better S'pore for the people, by the people and with the people..

We will live to regret if we do not....!!

Chiam See Tong and his By-Election strategy of 1991..

Chiam See Tong and his By-election Strategy of 1991....

In total truth..Chiam was never a strong leader and his By-election strategy put PAP in the govt before even the election of 1991...It was a very disastrous move...I concurred with the late JBJ to be against it..

Then again those years ..the qualities of candidates in the opposition was so mediocre and Chiam as the then unofficial leader molded that idiotic strategy...there was no other better plan..and all went for the worst plan of a by-election strategy...

Come 2011..20 years down the road..we do not see many good opposition candidates too..Look at the RP candidates who fought LHL in Ang Mo Kio...The reason that many of us got at least 30 over percent was not because of the quality but the emotional votes against PAP...And only one candidate lost his deposit due to the party branding in Punggol East in the GE 2011...But the credibility came to play again in the PE BE in 2012...WP's Lee Li Lian won on more merits this time round....also on the strength of WP than the poor losers of RP and SDA..who only garnered 1% and 0.4% votes respectively..losing their deposits.

Even Marne Parade GRC...with newbie Nicole Seah and team against GCT got 44% vote..I do not see that as the the results of NSP excellence but the anger of citizens against PAP with emotional voting...

Come 2016 will be a different ball game..With better credible and creditable oppositions...PAP will be banging for a tought time...Citizens can see the credentials of the candidates now..And with the emotional uprising of the citizens..opposition can capture a sizeable parliament ..though I do not see that the opposition can come up with one-third opposition members of parliament. If 15 to 20 opposition MPs would be an achievement in GE 2016 !

And saying is easy...I know how hard it is for opposition to walk the ground with not much support (my last experience as a candidate in 2011!)..Hence, any opposition party or candidate worth his salt need to do the ground work at least two years before any GE...best would be every week of meeting the residents and walking the ground to be seen as true opposition of S'pore not just pop up during elections..

It will be a new awakening of the political twist come 2016..only if opposition knows how to go about securing their strong base...Even if there is 3 corner fights..it will be there if many opposition party candidates wrestle for supremacy of power ..no different from PAP...

We must learn from the mistakes of past SGs of the other parties...looking back into the failure of SPP's Chiam, RP's Kenneth and SDA's Desmond Lim...Never think as a Secretary-General (SG)  you are above every members of your party...without good members any party is just a party...nothing else....!!!

We need better and younger knowledgeable political interest to become better SGs....SGs must remember that one swallow does not make a summer..Only if you are Lee Kuan Yew, maybe, maybe....

We can see where is SPP is heading now....and can RP bring back its glory in the legacy of JBJ..And SDA (better to disband) can just forget about politics altogether....The citizens have made the choice in 2011...it will make more wise choice in GE2016.....

The choice is for better and more credible opposition in parliament come 2016.....PAP has seen their better days !!

A Solitary Thought.

A solitary thought...

by Patrick Lee Song Juan (Notes) on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 3:21am

In the deep of night
the shadow of darkness is the only sight
in quiet repose of life journey
in my solitary sojourn.

the power of meditation
sharpens my mind's perspective
ever increases the awareness
of our citizens' fate.

in a country like Singapore
emulating the Swiss standard
only for the elite and upper echelon
the suffering of the citizens prolong.

is PAP governing past its time
to the dismay of the populace
Is there a new awakening
to redeem the country's grandeur.

without a change
life will be tough,
voting for a new government
to replace the last.....

On the Subject of Death.

On the subject of Death

by Patrick Lee Song Juan (Notes) on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 11:51pm

Sumiko Tan, the editor of Sunday Life...in the Sunday life page wrote about death and a little of the afterlife after attending a colleague wake...Her colleague died at 50...a relatively young age...

If  I am not wrong..she is reaching 50, (I am following occasionally her writings) and god! is she afraid? Oh! everyone of us is afraid of death, not only her only..No one has experienced what death is...And death can never be experienced..And also is there a near death experience ???

Is death that fearful?...Yes my friends, death is fearful and hard to accept, if one is never prepared. But who would be prepared and think of dying when alive?..Not many..

At this juncture of her existence Miss Sumiko is thinking of what death is, And why not fix the age of death to everyone at 75.....Har!... wishful thinking..

Sumiko Tan's article search the mind's of people and at the same time pricks the conscience of truth..

It is not in dying that we are worried...it is how we live...In our old age if we can live a long life of refinement, it will be a blessing..Ageing is a perennial process of pro-creation of life.

We live to die peacefully...But the journey in life is full of dangers of how death can come about...sudden death in the form of accidents...in sickness,  are premature death.

Death is a taboo subject to discuss. But death is inevitable in the journey to life..

A good death is all many would wish for...And that really depends on each individual....Death is that fearful and the one wish many would wish may not come true for a good death...Sickness is always the precursor to a suffering death in many cases of human existence.

Another human fear of unknown is eternity. It is as fearful as death....for eternity is beyond the realms of reality....

The impending collapse of PAP and the Lee Dynasty..

Studying "The  March of Time" in Romans history, the great Empire conquered many parts of the old civilization, but in the end, it too perished into the annals of history only...We do remember the great Julius Caesar and Mark Anthony with the coquettish Queen of Egypt Cleopatra.

Singapore (S'pore) has been ruled by PAP for 52 years since 1959...It was not easy for PAP to build S'pore to this day. One man and his team did it and we citizens enjoyed the fruit of their labour then.

Nothing is permanent in life, as one old guard after another met their heavenly world, S'pore with founding old patriarch LKY and his new second generation of ministers transformed S'pore into a metropolitan city of the world..Life was still good and bearable.

Absolute rule has its evil and curse...When LKY started to pay themselves and the ministers big bucks to run a small country like S'pore, where can they get most of the money but from the citizens' blood and sweat earnings..Lok at all the increase in our daily needs...HDB, ERP COL, MRT and GST..etc...

Every year billions are paid as salary to all ministers. So each year more increases of taxes on ERP..PUB.MRT.Transports and the basic consumers needs. So life of citizens are becoming tougher and tougher.

Yet  the govt privatised most of the essential services to the public viz S'pore Power , SMRT, etc and open our small country to the influx of 'indiscriminate' foreigners...That is where the big bucks flows in too...
PAP has come a long way in its 52 years of rule by the only power they know off and all are 'lesser mortals to them as one MP Charles Chong said.

With sole power comes the abuse and arrogance.. With so many high and mighty young punk scholars inducted into the new cohort of PAP elites...the country should be moving upwards but  NO..it is moving downwards!!

Many of their policy changes affected the citizens tremendously, yet the govt of PAP never bate an eye-lid for consultation....until in GE of May 2011 when PAP crashed into a small defeat of Aljunied GRC and many of the PAP's elitists began to wake up from their slumber (literally..their balls all dropped!)...And we saw another two SMC fell subsequently....

So, S'pore needs an "inclusive society with core values" said LHL and open up the National Conversation...But before it takes flight..The Population White Paper (PWP) was read and approved in parliament to the great consternation of the wide population. These  triggered two protest in Hong Lim Park on the PWP.

The emotional charge sentiments of the citizens though only about 5000 people was clearly exhibited at the scene of the protest and worldwide coverage was reported.

PAP lost another round in its policy bulldozing tactics to the citizens...And all ministers scrambled into damage control and try hard to remedy their bloppers and dafts..A little too late ..

With the latest AIM saga..and another bulldozeing into parliament after MND review, PAP has truly sink to that abyss of the "black hole of Calcutta" And vehemently denied their wrong doing . PM LHL is so helpless to right the wrong and just leave it to the fall guy poor khaw Boon Wan (KBW) to moo moo his way on.. With Teo Ho Pin (THP) disgracefully defiant of his right handling of AIM as the 'King" of 14 Town Councils..

Let us remember...as human in this world, many are not that stupid as THP thinks..with his manipulation of AIM faulting WP on their FMSS...Another downside to PAP's hegemonic rule..

Time is the precursor to life's events and happenings...we can see that PAP is falling apart with all the third generation MPs and ministers making mistakes after mistakes. And it is really sickening for what we had admired the PAP of old..

It is the impending collapse of PAP and the Lee Dynasty with old patriarch weak and feeble moving into parliament with an aid to guide him..It really aches my heart seeing LKY from the public gallery..

The power, the glory, the strength that he helped build S'pore is gradually falling apart in the hands of his younger ministers...Many will be disheartened for that..so a change is in the offings..as nothing is permanent in life...

PAP's impending collapse will be a premonition of  truth with old patriarch LKY becoming a legend...

S'pore will be ruled by a two party coalition government in time to come...

PAP will live their last sooner than later...

The Power of the Penis

The Power of the Penis

by Patrick Lee Song Juan (Notes) on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 11:26pm

As I promised to Lianlian Loh Gliptis to pen a poem on the joys of the penis...
..when I posted the pussy creation...

The power of the penis...

A nature's gift to 'shiok' women of mature age
Who like to experience the 'rod' of  love
Only with minimal flick of her fingers
She will command the rise of the phallus..

Wanting more sexcite-ment to the foreplay
Many a man will be helpless at her slurp
Her mouth is the wonder orifice
Doing a Cecilia Su on a high..

Many would like to be Ng Boon Gay
getting all the lollipops in the years
Which man would not envy such
To just relax and be joyfully sucked..

The power of man so virile
Is the very thingie up in the sky
Man would never refuse a vagina
When the woman love his phallus.

An AIM to the ASSes of all Citizens

An AIM at the ASSes of all Citizens...

by Patrick Lee Song Juan (Notes) on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 9:49pm

The final chapter closed on AIM.
PAP's KBW emerged the man not to blame,
for ill-handling of the review of AIM.

In parliament he bulldozed that the findings as pristine
To which WP is left with nothing to gain,
but a bad name for their political stance
Teo Ho Pin sat through it all with a big smile.

knowing  WP can do nothing to his "tryst"
THP might have lied all the way,
But who to fault him in his disarray
If LHL maintains the smooth passage of AIM.

Who is LTK to dig into PAP's shame?
Let us take this as a lesson,
What an absolute Govt can do to all citizens
Even though Sylvia Lim rebutted with all her might.

What can a mere seven opposition MPs do,
In the perimeter of eighty mules.
Only in the exercise of our votes,
Can we help change the mode of PAP's total rule.

Is Worker's Party alienating itself?

Is Worker's Party (WP) alienating itself ?

by Patrick Lee Song Juan (Notes) on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 1:18am

WP has come a long way into the political scene of S'pore politics. We can never forget JBJ who formed the party even before Low Thia Khiang (LTK) knows what is politics. But before  JBJ, it was David Marshal who was the founder of WP.

So, it evolves to the hand of LTK when JBJ passed the baton to him..LTK made good to secure on seat in parliament then and has since been an MP for donkey years..

GE 2011 was a breakthrough by WP to trounce PAP in Aljunied GRC and history was created  when WP secured the supposedly strong fortress GRC of Georgie Yeo and team. With it, WP also secured their stronghold hougang SMC under Yaw Shing Leong (YSL)...Subsequently, when YSL was sacked due to his immoral tryst with a party member, the ward was never threatened. And Png Eng Huat wrestled Hougang against  a strong PAP challenge.

And WP went on to win Punggol East by-election (PE BE) vacated by PAP due to  Michael  Palmer picking on mangoes! So. Lee Li Lian won PE on a four-party contest and became an MP of WP

In all, WP has seven MPs and two NCMPs.  It is a milestone reached against the might of PAP dominance.

Since then, even before the  PE by-election, LTK displayed a total indifference towards opposition solidarity and unity by announcing in one of his rallies during PE BE that WP will not 'co-operate' with any other opposition parties.

So, has WP grown too alienated and strong that they believe they can stand alone in facing PAP? And what is the reason  for LTK  to be so openly stating his stand on WP. Has LTK and WP grown over and above their own imagination to be without reservation to state their stand?

At a time of political soul-searching to counter PAP, WP's bombshell serves only to frustrate all opposition. In as much as the opposition of S'pore are rather too immature to move ahead under the control of PAP in absolute power!

With the recent GE of Malaysia...many saw how the solidarity of the Malaysian Parties fought that strongly against BN and secure more that one third parliamentary seats..It will be a tall order for our opposition to do so in our very own country...It will take a number of years for our opposition to even measure up to a quarter of Malaysian oppositions. We cannot deny the truth of self-alienation of our political parties ?

We just look at SPP and RP, where are they heading now??

Hopefully, WP will not be that 'self-serving strong' to want to wear a big hat when the size does not fit. Yes! politics is all about manipulation and smart moves, but you can see many of our oppositions' Secretary-generals, being too smart and egoistic to move to doom...viz... Chiam See Tong, Kenneth Jeyaretnam, Desmond Lim and Goh Meng Seng.

So, is WP and LTK alienating its party into political doomsday or is the party moving in robust pace to secure more seats from the dominance of PAP?... GE 2016 will be exciting to see not only WP but SDP, and NSP forging an inroad to political recognition...

Mother's Day....

Mother's Day is tomorrow...(12.5.13)

by Patrick Lee Song Juan (Notes) on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 7:49pm

Without mother , there will be no father. And the argument goes to say without father there will be no mother too. So, who is greater? The chicken and egg theory !

In olden times , mothers mainly were the homemakers and fathers the breadwinners. But in our present modern society, fathers and mothers need to supplement the family income. Hence , mothers nowadays, play equal role as the father.

Mothers are still great. Most children tends to be closer to the mother than father.

With society's changing pattern of living conditions, mothers played lesser role as the housewives than the maids of the house. Children are left in the care of maids since a very young age , so the bondage of mother's care is much less and the love is only felt through the heart. The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.

Children lost the formative years of growing up with less time from the mothers due to work commitment. In the process, mother's love is seen as more distant with less family cohesiveness.

Modern mothers face the stress of society and work life and indirectly it affects the upbringing of the offspring.
Maids are closer to the children than the mothers.

Unfortunately, this trend will be here to stay...so the modern mother can never be looked upon as devoted to the children as the mothers of yesteryear.

With such social dis-integration of social harmony and warmness...many children grew up lacking mother's love.
And we find many latchey children and rebellious kids on the rise. Is that due to the social disorder of the living with greater emphasis on family's financial wellness than moral family togetherness?

It will be a tall order to bring back the days of old..when every time a kid runs into trouble, mother would always be at hand to solve the problem. Mothers will still be around as mothers but the social norms of living is far from what a mother would be in the times of our grandmother and even our mother's era.

As for fathers...its influence on the child is not as strong as the mother even to this present day, since time immemorial...

Mothers are still best, no matter what changes the world, society or Singapore's way of life  has brought about the alienation of  family harmony and cohesion.

In part ,we blame it on the Government's relentless push for excellence, in the neglect of what a family of warm and happiness should be...Should we blame on the mothers (having to work) or the govt...?

We blame it on the social degradation of our pursuit of materialism and its needs to the spiritual solace of the family...

Mothers are not to be blamed......It is the decadence of ociety brought about by the modern world surge.

With that I wish all mothers.......

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY tomorrow... remembering my beloved late mother (died at age 94 years) who brought up nine offspring single-handledly without a so-called maid in those carefree simple good old days.

How prepared will our Opposition be in the run to GE 2016 ?

How prepared will our Opposition be in the run to GE 2016 ?

by Patrick Lee Song Juan (Notes) on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 10:19pm

Malaysia's  General Election (GE) was over and  Barisan  Nasional (BN) won with 133 seats to PR with 89.  BN is denied a two-third majority. And Pakatan Rakyat (PR)) did a little better from  82 to 89 seats from the previous GE.

The GE of Malaysia was a more volatile and dangerous election.. The eleven days of campaigning saw explosion of bombs and injury to members. But one thing is certain in the politics of Malaysia, there is no gerrymandering of boundary and no GRCs of the Govt to have a upper hand against the opposition.

Opposition parties of Malaysia especially DAP. Pakatan and PAS are a force to reckon in solidarity and unity....unlike S'pore's political parties...to each their own, and the state of affair of our opposition leave much to the desire...

Apart from WP who has already had an inroad into parliament , the other parties like SDP, NSP, RP, SPP etc are still finding it tough to penetrate the wards of PAP...

A post morten by opposition would do well for them to strategize their future engagement with PAP in the GE  2016 to come...

Every election is about the party and the people...heart shattering emotional issues. There is no better time than now to walk the grounds conscientiously to be in full view of the voters in each respective constituency that the party is to contest...Hard work will reap havest. Why is the opposition still behaving so lackadaisical to move in force in engaging the ground?

Every election, when near, will see more activities rather than the normal frequent rapport and knowing of the citizens...

PAP has come a long way to learn their lesson to re-invent themselves in such close encounter... by the way Lee Bee Wah is engaging with the residents of Nee Soon...She 'die die' must show her Ah Huay face...So, can the opposition do as such??...On this aspect, I must give LBW the credit...I do not see any other opposition members that hardworking as her....though there are more to just engaging citizens....

Nevertheless, this mode is the very basic yet rewarding stance to garner votes and better rapport. That is what our opposition is lacking...And with PAP coming on board with the National conversation and many forums on health..on housing...on education..etc, can the opposition keep pace with them.

There is little comparison in the opposition of Malaysia to that of S'pore...It is just a total different ball game.

How well our opposition can uproot more seats from the strong claws of PAP is how able the opposition can grasp this opportunity of 'high tension' of PAP's many mistakes ...Keep working on it and show the residents opposition means good alternative change from the PAP govt..

Talk is easy..working the ground may be harder.....People's charisma play a strong part in the cause of  change...But at the end of the day...how the opposition projects it image to the populace is how the battle can be won....Unity and Soldarity is still the missing words....and please stop all the BICKERING when election is near.

We never heard of Malaysian political parties at loggerhead among themselves...(even if they did, they resolved quickly and amiably)...

Singaporeans are watching for a good performance of the opposition parties to trash PAP as hard as they can.

The time will come in GE 2016....The mantra is how to work it well !!

An Inspiration of the mind.

An Inspiration of the Day..

by Patrick Lee Song Juan (Notes) on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 9:10am

The balance of mind and body
a healthy way to stay
Some days may be misery
In a stressful tiny dot S'pore.

Overcrowding is an everyday chore
Fighting hard to stay and go
unable to meet the rising cost
life is a drudgery for one and all
especially if you are poor.

where is the solace in living a life
in a country of the elites
only our own wellness do we search
for the serenity of our heart.

No more Self.....

No More Self - A Buddhist Perspective by Ven.Yen Pei

by Patrick Lee Song Juan (Notes) on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 9:54am

Everyone of us has a self-concept. People attach great importance to the "self" and develop egoism. This results in antagonism among people. Some thinkers who hold the self view encourage people to have self-recognition, as well as mutual respect for one another. (My Take: which is never wrong in the mundane world of human idiosyncrasies) !

However, from the Buddhist perspective, the endless problem in this world cannot be solved if we acknowledge the existence of "self" This is because once we attach importance to the "self", we will tend towards self-inflation and self-augmentation. In this way, we will easily offend people or create unhappiness for them.

Human life is a combination of various causes and conditions. It is not a real, substantial "self", Buddha told us that the human life is merely a false "self". The two main constituents of human life form are mind and matter. In the absence of any of these, the human life form cannot come into existence. If the "self" really exists, then is the mind the "self" or is matter the "self"?

If the mind is the "self", then there is no need for the matter, if matter is the "self", then there is no need for the mind. In reality, the mind and matter of human life form cannot be separated. Since the human life form is a combination of various causes and conditions, how could the "self" exist.... So denial of "self" is the key to resolving problems.......Venerable Yen Pei..
