Sorry Guys..just back since mid-day from SAGE-volunteers X'mas gathering and with me around..they really enjoyed the fun, laughter and togetherness. I was emcee for them again !!
A wealth of knowledge for me. In fact this was my comment to Julie Sim on (Facebook ) John Yam's thread on X'mas which I copied to my Blog.
Notably, Andy is impressive with his research on the UK job and retirement scenario..whereby hopefully our government can pick up a point or two from them..focusing on the basis of our local context.
Many poor and destitute of S'pore are helped by the private VWOs like Food for the Heart started many years ago by an expatriate lady who roped in a few like-minded individuals to delivery 'un-saled' bread to poor households. And the greatest thing was...they did it with their own time and money and transport in the beginning..Now, i am glad, they set up a proper organisation and granted IPC status.
Christine Laimer is one hell of a lady with a compassionate heart for the deprived poor and penniless who started Food for the Heart. I salute her...not the high and mighty charity houses who on the pseudo-facade of charity..siphoned millions away for self and the government got the dexterity to give them only light sentences...LOL!
This is what we call real help without any ostentation and 11,000 beneficiaries. I guess Andy is doing a great job in charity too...Keep up you good work Andy. S'pore need many many people like your kind!! 'Action speaks louder words..is the motto of life.'
Yes! Kenneth Jeyaretnam (KJ) is gracious to admit his party is a novice on the scene..and as far as what is happening on his front...he is doing just fine....Especially with his 'high power lady lawyers' probing up the backdrop...you tell me..who in the PAP dared to sue KJ..even MM LKY has to think twice...But KJ...we move on in this political arena of diversed opinions...favourable and unfavourable..we gather and analyse the substances to the frivolity...but we do not have to banned people..Tan Kuan Han (FB) is a brilliant young chap I met and conversed with him a month or so before...Do you know I do gain from his youthful wisdom, when he chatted with me...
KJ..keep up your positive work and in true honesty...your party with good and 'open credibility', will do well in this coming election...not because of your beauties in it nor the high qualifications!!...it is the essence of people and I will never forget Irene Ho..(haha!..really missed her), her drive, her write-ups and her 'fire' as a lady...just tell me how many can hold a candle to her..except Siok Chin of SDP..but unfortunate, she is a victim of her circumstances...another strong, powerful lady with that fiery drive..OMG!..
The other is WP's Sylvia Lim..articulate and her law background gave her the added advantage to tread cautiousness against PAP...And the only other lady I admire is Dr Lily Neo..the petite sweet lady MP borne into a different era of PAP dynasty. She was held up for promotion again just recently....But her heart is still with the poor people, all these years..shows great compassion and understanding of the human milk of kindness...Can our male opposition candidates measure up to them?? Or even the young third generation Male Chauvinist Pig (MCP) PAP MPs and ministers ??
I have nothing to say about the high and mighty women-in-white ministers and MPs who just harp the master tune and ride the 'smooth boat home safely.' Lim Hwee Hua is a clear cut case.
David..thanks for the accolades...so many of the other articles written were just below the belt lah!...hahaaha! Your rationality and your sensible questioning and engaging with the ding dong pussy of mine Wilson..is really a totally different person..So..Philipine charms and beauties there had something to do to your change of self ..to be so..loving ...You must have taken many love-portion No. 9 in Philipines..Mabohay !!
DDP Wilson is still a 'minion'...hahaaha! And if I left anyone out due to my old age..please blame me on my stamina and 'dementia'...I can never compare with David the 'Barbeque' and Wilson the Sumo Wrestler...You both really do not interest me the least...I am just looking forward to meeting Irene Down-under and my 007 spy agency had located her hideout!!....
Thanks gentlemen and ladies for the learning process. Never know an 'inconspicuous article' can ignite so much fire.....if only it is fired from Irene lah!

Is the government doing enough for the Poor AND how are our opposition able to help?
In any government..a progressive package of participating in the daily activities of seniors are important..Only those that are really handicapped or physically incapable of any light work that 'handout' should be given...Remember... as LKY said.."Nothing is for free"
In any society..the class difference will prevail...but in First World S'pore..if ministers can be paid obscene salary..I have yet to see any minister step forward to create a fund said 5% of their salary to the welfare of the deprived, hardship citizens in all category. Yes! CDC and the various government department. are doing it...but the criteria is too cumbersome and stringent that the outreach only goes to limited people associated more to CC and RC. The illiterate poor are the ones ostracized.
As a private charity volunteer and VWOs..it is these organisations that are way ahead of government 'red tape'- if you do not believe me...you can question Vivivian Bala-lan of MCYS...just private wall me..i will give his personal email to you!
We live to see our humankind not to suffer the indignity that is sometimes more debased than a household pet dog..who is fed chicken drumsticks...Do not we human more qualify to live a decent life than the animals??..And we have plenty of 'animals' in our midst...in the ruling government and the cronies and bootlickers of every social stratagem.
The opposition can talk till the 'rabbit' arrived next year (rabbit year),
We are not fighting the PAP for the sake of just wanting to put more voices in parliament?? We want to put 'essence' in parliament where the interest of the heart is not for self fame or glory or power but..but.. for the very reason that PAP have outlived their arrogance and are not sympathetic to the cry of our society..the cry of not letting too many foreigners into S'pore ! The cry of 'affordable' HDB
Yes PM LHL (Lee Hsien Loong) is trying hard..but not hard enough...the damaged had been done...The affordable HDB..which supposed to be the citizens home comfort...now it is the citizens nightmare for life-long mortgage. And Maboh (katek) Tan (MBT) is living beyond the reality of his own cushy bosom of his ivory tower ...still harping ..affordable ..affordable ..to him and his ministers (million dollar pay what!!) I guess, not to the citizens whose average income only 2500 to 4000 dollars a month. And the lower income citizens (30%) earning less than $1500 per month. MBT is qualified to his own elitist world of nonchalance......

My comment on Desmond Lim (SDA's secretary -general) doing charity for the Poor
Well done. The world is a balance entity of good and evil. Good will always overcome! Charity is the hallmark of the milk of human kindness.
In as much as selfishness and self-serving so called 'great' people with farcical facade of justice but doing otherwise, are the society's invertebrates! Well done DL!

US is heading into Depression
Year 2011 will be an 'awakening' in the wrong sense of the word for many countries...Iran would be going forward with their nuclear programme in full force..., Israel will feel the threat..North Korea too have the bargaining chip..
On the local... scene, PAP will call for election by MAY 2011 and behold...
PAP is in for a little beating...losing 2 GRCs and 5 SMCs and two old veterans may die of heart attack..one due to third stroke after losing Potong Pasir to PAP after 26 years (his own kamma)..The other due to old age excitement...cannot accept opposition can capture that many seats....forgetting that nothing is impossible and nothing is permanent !!
US is falling into the abyss of the cesspool and the glory of a super power shows gradual but drastic dislocation. Middle
east steps up pressure upon Israel and the protacted war dragged on..to the verge of a nuclear war.
China will emerge the strongest in terms of economic power and decent military might which is mainly for defence purposes.
Oil will be increasing... as Gold too, today trading at US $1387 per oz will hit about US$1900 in the middle of next year...so..investing in gold is the best bet..
Life will be tougher everywhere...S'pore is no exception...PAP will hold on and blessed our SWF is strong...guess we will still be in good hands ...come what may....
US will be smelling of shit everywhere and the rest of the world got the tail wind and the repercussion will be far and wide...as Gerald Celente said it may be worst than the 1929 Depression till it top the summit in 2012...
Death is a certainty but life goes on...brought about by the atrocities and the US fiasco having printed their 600 billion greenback to further plunge them into deeper shit. Having already a gigantic deficit of US$ 39 trillion!
The legend lives on ...and humankind suffers the greatest indignity of self-inflicted catastrophe and endless wars !! The terror of humankind! The death of decency !! The collapse of the great America !!
China and India become the rising power of the world economy!!

A gunman on a killing spree!
SAD!..the curse of society...another madcap...Luckily no one was killed except him..A pity he got to end up like this. The social pressure of life to any individual who is unable to make the basic necessity of his or her living needs can be a tremendous stress factor, culminated by family and other problems !
Death is not the end all, but it is always a last resort. Some will do it for the attention of doing 'something big' because they believe society has failed them, but never have the rationality to think they may have failed society. The idiosyncrasies of living in a fast changing world...How many will fall off the by-line...
An alarm bell ringing for help loud and clear....the human mind needs greater training as in meditation...which I am doing for 15 odd years..It opens up one's mind perspective..to let go..to be more aware and to live a simple and happy volunteering life of joy for others...and we see joy ricochet back to us....
Christmas brings a true meaning of love and kindness to the world...but sadly..our world is heading more towards decadence..!

My comment on an interesting rebuttal on Minimum Wage!
Interesting rebuttal from all parties. My DDP wilson always have the amber that ignites in his sumo belly into a raging conflagration. But at least now I saw more intellectual deliberation of thoughts and questions..no definite answers and... opinion to put forth in a ding dong fashion. I am here not to debate...the young pillars of society are the future leaders..We are 'had beens'...enjoying every knowledge that goes by!
David Torbarsky seems to mature so much with his gentleman retort that leave Wilson gasping for his breath...I think in a discussion portal as such David's direct question should be answer with direct answers...so as not to drag the debate beyond the horizon.
At the end of the day, it is this kind of healthy ding dong affairs (not triangle love-affairs) that brings the excitement of our daily living. No name calling or harsh words ramped down one's throat. As long as civilization and education help us to rationalize any ramification of daily life affecting the majority of S'poreans, the subject matters of any debate is worth the open door approach!
We never shut ourselves to progress...we progress to shut and tighten the bolts and nuts of an old noisy machine..If we need to do the complete overhaul...we will find the cheapest and possible cost-cutting way to initiate the job to the right source and see to it's ideal completion. All the more on minimum wage or no minimum wage...
Thanks all gentlemen for the mind-inspiring writes on 'Yes/No' on minimum wage...My take is' sometimes in life if the going gets tough, let the tough gets going. On the other hand, I believe the beauty of nature has a hand to provide us with the wonder of existence of survival and wellness in life. We may let nature takes it course if so be it!!
PAP had done well, PAP did not do so very well NOW...PAP may have past their time with their (as Black Templar said) what 'moral authority' for them to give themselves so high pay when as the guardiian and government of S'pore..they are the selected lot that took the office to service not so much to benchmark their pay to the top CEOs of the private sector...but for the country, for the nation!!
Comparison breeds contempt of self,..disenchantment of others and
what is 'privilege' becomes a desire of greed-entitlement. That is what is happening to the PAP government NOW!
CAN THE CITIZENS VOTE PAP OUT SLOWLY BUT SURELY and with intelligence..intelligence...intelligence !!

Five Decades of PAP Rule and the Disconcerting Opposition.
A brief History in Time...not Stephen Hawkings book but the time of our life under PAP government. History was forever changed when a group of Men-in-White (MIW) stormed into the political scene and formed the first government in 1959.
Singapore was a real slum. When the British withdrew their naval presence in our former Naval Base..Singapore was all on their own. What happened next, was never a bookmaker's dream of winning the odds. S'pore with the old guards slogged their hearts out to transform S'pore to our present Cosmopolitan.
The political storm and controversy of power struggle saw many casualties of political fallout. The final winner emerged as PAP party till this day. Barisan Socialis discredited themselves by walking out of parliament all 11 members (correct me if I am wrong) . The ''omen presented itself that PAP will rule S'pore as one-party till 1984 when Joshua Benjamin Jeyaretnam (JBJ) won the Anson by-election. S'pore for the first time after 1962, experienced a 'tiny' voice in parliament. It was never a voice but a 'loudspeaker'. And PAP MPs and LKY could never had more peace than they wanted. In the end..through the various law suits and intrigue manipulation and 'victimisation' JBJ was 'robbed' of his MP seat when he was convicted on a charged of misappropriation of party fund. JBJ lost his MP seat.
PAP slept more peaceful with all the yes voices without another opposing voice again! Heaven cries out for help. But help was never so near !
The PAP wayang went on until SDP was credible enough with Chiam See Tong (CST) voted in with two more SDP MPs and Worker's Party (WP) Low Thia Khiang into parliament!
(The Memoirs of Lee Kuan Yew (LKY) : 'From Third World to First' and 'The Singapore Story'...These two books are highly recommended to read to understand the struggle of S'pore to this day. And you can form your own opinion!!)
So..after some years of barren opposition in parliament (JBJ was out 'high and dry'), all of a sudden, parliament have 4 MPs. Definitely was not enough...but better than nothing. But it only took one parliament term when two under-performed MP Cheo and Ling were kicked out for good. (meaning, were never voted into parliament the second term) And till this day S'pore Peoples Party (SPP) and Worker's Party (WP) have booked themselves as the two life members of parliament.
SDP lost more than they bargained for under Chee Soon Juan No representation. CST was a breakaway from SDP and CST formed SPP and even on a new party ticket; got his seat in parliament to this day. SDP had never redeemed their lost and credibility. Subsequently, they practised 'confrontational politics' and became 'jail-birds' of 'Changi Palace' as their long-termed second home....Sad..other SDP members enjoyed the stay too. How can you fight PAP on that scale of (10 to 1)...you are always (1)..I been repeating this message to SDP. Hope they get the meaning of the implication!!
The awakening of the citizens comes only this last 5 to 6 years of PAP 'atrocities' and absolute rule. The country has become a corporation not a people's country. And the last straw was the obscene influx of foreigners without hold. Floodgate opened....now 1.5 million foreigner on a population of 5 million...ho!..ho!...ho! Christmas is coming...
Housing escalation choked many breaths to suffocation. Rich foreigners kept on snapping resale flats and PRs to buy up many new flats. Supply was wanting , demand pressing. Emotions when high whe cash-over-value (COV) hit 40 thousand cash upfront or more. Young couples crying for help unable to buy re-sales flats. And record sales in Queenstown for a 5-rm flat at over 900,000 dollars was really absurd. And not too long another ..5-rm flat at Bishan goes for 1.1 million dollars. Bought by dirt rich foreigners. It was and is total madness!! And to add insult to injury Maboh Tan our National Development minister kept on harping ..'affordable'..'affordable'...and living in 'affordable' S'pore is a real struggle for the 20% of low income people..But the PAP government are still nonchalant to their plight ..PAP only see dollars and cents not sense.
Transport re-organization on distant-based travel, transfer buses or MRT rather than single fare travel for seniors. Seniors with weak limbs to risk accident, transfer up and down the buses or MRT. Is there any justification? Due to central data base computer mainframe control of seniors travel..when they computed the statistics of single-price fare..the percentage of long travel by senior made LTA to decide to switch to distant-transfer fare system to their gain..How commercialized is our country and SBS Transit and SMRT are part-owned by Temasek Holdings and the general public shareholders...Must answer to shareholders, you know! The ramifications of transport change and do away with concession on seniors saw many a suffering old poor fighting for survival. Raymond Lim said...one-third will pay more and two-third will benefit. He spoke through his ORIFICE...Lily Neo and Sylvia Lim questioned the rationale of such change..Raymond held on to his belief it is good for all. (In fact, I heard the debate in parliament on this issue during that specific parliament sitting..i just want to throw my smelling leather shoes, like the Iranian did on George Bush) but I could not..the public gallery is secured with floor to the ceiling thick glass panel....Lucky Raymond or lucky me??
That is the PAP of today..High , mighty, no compassion for old folks, for poor and insensitive to the peoples hardship.
Many a drastic policy change bulldozed into your throat like an army tank...you got to relent..if not can we citizens do anything to change the system..definitely no...all our wings are clipped..We are all sitting decoy ducks!!
Yes! we only can by one legitimate means..through our VOTE this coming election to send a message to PAP we had enough, we need to live as citizens not 'zombie' aliens of our own motherland. The foreigners are taking every inch of our space, our seats on buses , on MRT and we citizens are resigned to be screwed by PAP forever and ever if we do not wise up and VOTE rightly for more opposition, for more voices in parliament.
We will all be dead 'Peking Duck' for the roasting. Do it right for S'pore!..Do we dare to dream the right dream! Nothing is impossible and PAP made it so impregnable we are singing... PAP is making everything impossible and impossible. How, how to make it possible for opposition to get a stronghold of the hegemony of PAP dominance..
Another 20 years maybe ...many will be dead by then (me too maybe at 85 then but my Mom is still living at 94..maybe got chance hor.)..MM Lee Kuan Yew (surely died already lah! cannot live to 107 years right! bless him if he does!) He will be laughing in his urn..and muttering..Singaporeans so stupid! so stupid!..PAP even without me..still rules on and on.....
(Foreign Imports, Housing, and Transport will form the main issues of this coming election with other grouses in between)....
How lost can the opposition be to this day....the disenchanted and disconcerted Opposition.. One Christmas after another we had gone by 50 Christmas now!!
Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle PAP!... PAP, PAP makes everyone's life misery....

The Inequality of the Human Race.
Ethnic and race issues have through time immemorial the bane of human civilization. If the human race can live under one huge umbrella of homogeneity, the world will be heaven on earth!!
In a country of ethnic majority, the onerous task is for them to claim superiority and privileges and perks as their 'God-given' rights! The minority races will be greatly disadvantaged and dis-engaged. This happened to many parts of the world throughout history to our present modern lives.
It will be the nemesis of the very human race that will annihilate and exterminate its very own human, just because the very human deemed them less 'human' :(
The most infamous extermination of the human race in war world one was when Hitler (or is it world war two?) claimed the Nazi as the superior race and caused the 'holocaust' of the Jewish community of millions.
History will repeat itself, if we as human cannot co-exist in greater harmony of our racial difference and claim our rights of no rights !!?
All human are sons and daughters of this universe, nothing more nothing less, we have a right to be here..as the cosmic world is unfolding with exuberance..... We must live and die with peace and harmony as we are ONE and only ONE human race.
The Martians will be another race altogether !!!

Opposition Participation and the coming Election.
How well the Opposition and the SGs will perform in this coming election?
I do not know why or how I propel myself into the unenvious task to monitor the political situation in Singapore. Maybe, partly due to the draconian and authoritarian rule of PAP for 50 years. And the last 6 years was the greatest transformation into all facet of lives and living, affecting every citizens. More so..the poorer citizens and senior poor destitute old folks.
On that note alone, the ground is stirring for silent cyclonic 'Reform'.
And the playing field has never been so inviting to the opposition than now. Even the illiterate uncles and aunties in hawker centres and void decks were discussing how difficult life is now with everything becoming more expensive. Even the ordinary folks are saying PAP is hoodwinking them.
What are the chances of opposition party making it good this time round to field better candidates and capture more seats in parliament?
This coming election will be the best bet to win on the sentiments of the voters dissent of government policies and insensitive bulldozing unpopular policies down our throat. The most controversial one that stood out is the vast influx of foreigners and the escalation of HDB property prices with demand not meeting up with supply.
On this note..it should be 'all well that ends well' for the opposition camp to capitalise on their strategy on how to engage PAP and win the hearts of the voters.
But beyond the call of change to bash the PAP and capture more seats, the opposition camp captured the citizens attention by inter-party and intra-party power struggle, accusations and traducement. These all have to do with the leaders in charge of the individual party.
I will commence with SPP and its SG. CST, having been an MP for twenty-five years and leader of SPP, he is a legend in his own right. But subsequent development of events within the party caused Chiam See Tong (CST) his crediblity and questions asked: How could a SG for 25 years cannot even steer his party forward but instead holding on to his last lifeline and not able to let go. The rest many that follow the fiasco and debacle of SPP will know that SPP is digging its own grave.
Preview of chances in this coming election: Lina chiam will lose Potong Pasir to PAP. Old CST will exit without much funfare and a sad 'adieu' to a once respectable MP of PP. Only now , his graciousness was revealed as a facade of his 'true' mean irrational character. CST has failed miserably as a SG of SPP.
Chee Soon Juan (CSJ) of SDP, the maverick political 'jail-bird' who loves 'Changi Palace so much that he has made that placed his second home and in the process introduced it to his party members to stay as guest for free. All on tax-payers money! The government is just too happy to accommodate SDP to stop them littering 'profanity on the public ground'. Changi Palace is the only place to shut them up even temporary. In true honesty..CSJ is driving PAP 'nuts', with their never say die 'vehemence'. There goes the high profile SG of SDP. And a party based more on the ideology of western democracy ! Another failure of sort.
Workers Party with Low Thia Khiang (LTK) at its helm, is as mysterious as the head of Medussa. Those who have an opportunity to meet him will be turned into stone with his aloofness and lack of utterance. Hence in the public eyes, he is seen to be unapproachable. Sylvia Lim fares reasonably well as chairman and more articulate. Her speeches in parliament is seen as really engaging the PAP on their unpopular policies. But one swallow cannot make a summer.
Overall, WP will be the best bet to have their candidates voted into the next parliament. LTK will sail through his calm territory and trashed Eric Low into a pulp again. This time if his (Eric) skin can withstand an Mk 47 bullet, he will die die come back another 4 years later to announce his intention to fight his losing battle. I admire Eric's 'determination of doom'. Do it wrong again man, Eric !
And on that note ..if nothing changed much on the boundary of Aljunied GRC...the incumbent Sylvia Lim leading her team should capture the ward..in the grandest fashion! Someone may collapse with a heart-attack. God bless!
CST would have had his third stroke when wife Lina loses to Sitoh “Sitting Bull” Yin Pin.
Goh Meng Seng of NSP....never die attitude and always 'loud mouth' will see a slight change in his strategy of his political platform. With Steve Chia a veteran NCMP...NSP will need all the expertise of Steve's experience to contest Tampines GRC and hopefully whack the living daylight of Maboh Tan and his team. Rumours abound Mah may not helm Tampines GRC. Well, your guess is as good as mine!
Reform Party (RP) with KJ at its helm, seemingly looks a well-rounded party with the most belles and notably high profile qualifications. Leading the pack is KJ with double first in economics. And those mighty lady 'warriors' of law. I mus t take off my hat to the party for organising a Gala (Gela) Night of Food, Movie and Auction of all things....RP's bevy of all 'shape and size' female members to the audience for dinner or other pursuits. There were member dentist and KJ were offered for bidding too.
The highest bid on Nicole Seah at $500/-went to Russell Teo to have dinner with her. What a rascal..hahaah! I attended the party to see Irene but she flew herself Down-under. Wow! I must be a terror for her to do that !? Joking..Joking...
In perspective..a precedent had been set for opposition parties to raise funds through this innovative way of auction bid...What will RP think of next!! A visit to the oldest profession house for a fling...LOL!
On that scale..RP if 'lucky' and with sound strategy may win one GRC or a SMC..It depends...depends....
SDA at the time of my writing...is still in limbo..with Desmond Lim (DL) subjecting to disciplinary committee's inquiry convened by non other than CST of SPP. Alrready DL was removed as ASG of SPP . So the WWF wrestling is into its final showdown match. And DL has already consulted a senior counsel for his defense.
Socialist Front (SL)..new kid of the block, looking for the right opportunity, maybe forming an alliance with PKMS and SJP...to consolidate any little power they have.
PKMS and SJP are buffer parties in their own usefulness or inactivity
So, in its final analysis of the opposition parties now contesting the coming election, one thing is clear...PAP will still be the ruling party.
Which opposition party can secure one or two or more seats in parliament will be based solely on the nine days of rally to bring to the hearts of the voters. What they can do as additional voices in parliament. Not just to warm the comfy leather broad seat and like the PAP MPs and Ministers caught napping!!

Are we more accepting of Consructive Criticism and Why banned netizens when their comment is not pleasing to your ears?
Interesting intellectual retorts by some strong minds and some "fly by nights"...GMS...The good friend Wilson mention is me..and I do not deny it....Do you know why many people always treat me as their good friend..And sure in a world of differing views, others called me 'names' too...hahaah! Even people like LPY Bryan Ti take me a friend though faceless on him not me..hehee!
A lesson on the finer points of engagement will cost you GMS some money outlay...as that is my forte.-- Image Consultation is my profession!
Show magnanimity ! as we are all mature personas....The true mantra in life is under whatever circumstances you even love your enemy..when they hated you..is a real human! Graciousness!...removed the 'ban' and engage constructively in the Cyber world of foregoing....For we got no chance to be featured in main stream media (MSM)..That is only for the master's voice. We blessed the day internet was invented !!
On that note..DDP wilson..your rationality still prevails by the present writing input. Hence, we always give people a second chance. You are doing it great man!
And I sincerely hope my 'lau peng you' (LPY) Bryan and Wilson can open their minds perspective and see that there is certainly some good in KJ of RP to want to give PAP a run for their money...Many problems will self-mature when the time comes in opportune.
Never forget, RP is still a new kid of the block...give them time to blossom into mellifluous flagrant roses and carnations..(due to the contingent of belles in RP...guess KJ must have some hidden oomphs and definitely a ladies' man...I am tempted to join his party lah..That is the reason Roger Tan the 'A.H'..without thought plunged into RP's soft bosoms..so many of them..hahaah!) !! Seeing so many lady politicians congregating on KJ... But a note of caution!...many are lady lawyers..Roger, roger..over..over...you can be sued till your pant dropped hor!! keep you pair of hands still please!!...May I ask you KJ..what brand of Eau de Cologne you used..(Giorgio Armani??) to attract those sexy 'fairies'....haha! Joking...joking...
Let us stay magnanimous and engagingly understanding! Remove any 'ban' and drink to the toast of a 'no-ban' on Facebook. If the FB Administator never banned you...why must you knock you hard skull against the wall. Regards

NCMP and NMP
Dedicate a poem on NCMP and NMP..
(NCMP - Non-Constituency Member of Parliament)
(NMP - Nominated Member of Parliament)
NCMP..NMP all these are just prata, egg with roti.
...What so grand about these..
A show of PAP's ideology..
To be seen as having magnanimity...
PAP thinks we do not know how to play 'go-lee' (marble)
Opposition always kena kar-chee (marble knocks marble)..
When can S'pore be free from PAP
Can opposition brings us all out of misery...
Majulah Singapura!
Maybe many will mati
Due to having no money !!
That is S'pore under lau lee, under lau lee !
How come he still never 'cow teng kee'! -(surrender to Providence)

JBJ, the Tough Fighter Politican, NCMPs and NMPs
JBJ had always been a fighter till his last breath... I remember many years ago when I was having lunch with a friend at the Civil Service Club at Demspey road..of Samy's nasi bryani (not nasi 'bryan ti' for sure, our Facebook political analyst) and fish head curry, I spotted JBJ sitting at a table alone having lunch.
I was feeling funny...why a man known to many was eating alone? Where were his friends in need? I went up to him and said hello and sat down for a few minutes chat, while waiting for my lunch to be served at my friend's table.
JBJ's indomitable spirit became the target of PAP and many MPs in parliament. How he fought his lone battle without much support from other opposition parties. In truth, the oppositions were there, but where were the voices outside parliament, only two meek ones in !!
JBJ would, with Lim Teck Siong, his trusted lieutenant, stationed themselves at Centrepoint to sell his books. On those two occasions I bought his two books separately with his signature and date "Make it Right for S'pore" and "The Hatchet Man of S'pore". (one on 3rd Sept 2000, the other 22nd Dec 2005..both which he personally signed on the spot. It is my treasure till this day!).
Our modern day politicians are a far cry as compared to JBJ. No one to this day can hold a candle to him.....I guess just a tiny toothpick !! How do we rate KJ !??
JBJ's court case which was brought about by the very PAP...ultimately would strain all his resources till he was made a bankrupt...The most draconic court case was when JBJ appealed to the Privy council, was acquitted...S'pore abolished any appeal subsequently to the Privy Council. And when then senior magistrate Michael Khoo (correct me if I am wrong) acquitted JBJ on one of the charges brought about by PAP....(Michael Khoo was re-assigned to the Attorney Chambers...that was the judiciary system then of S'pore..so is there any different now?? Higher executive power !!
And the legacy is now passed to Kenneth Jeyaretnam (KJ), the 'maverick' politician who lived in London for 45 odd years (am I right?)
Has he carried on the legacy of JBJ...to honour his father who died fighting the totalitarian rules of the PAP ??
KJ should not speak too soon, too unmindful. NCMP..though seen by all as the mechanism of PAP's rhetorics...to tell the voters..well you need not vote for opposition ...we will give them a place in as 'winner of the loser.' How magnanimous is the PAP government !?..My foot! We all know the reason behind the NCMP...it is just like a toothless tiger...can roar but cannot bite!!
This coming election will increase more NCMP seats.... Not only KJ but I think Goh Meng Seng (GMS) secretary-general of NSP also did say that if he scores a high percentage...he will not take it up too..
Personally, I never like the idea of NCMPs or NMPs...but after the performance of JBJ and Steve Chia and now Sylvia Lim...it really was and may be a 'pain in the ass' to PAP and those MPs who got the brunt of each NCMP's questions. JBJ and later Steve Chia put up a credible performance! At present , Sylvia Lim is not doing too badly...meaning she did well enough!
But this time round...the election will be totally different. I strongly believe that more opposition MPs will be voted in in grander manner then shooed in as NCMPs.
I have no comments on NMP, only many are cronies picked by PAP to 'wayang' their way into not making the PAP MPs look too stupid without 'oppositions to engage them for engaging sake! One very obvious 'chorus' (yes lady!) came from Paulin Straughan (wrong spelling maybe..don't even bother to know her name). Only NMP Viswa showed he has the direction of his own!
Our two legitimate MPs are too mild but enjoyed sitting in the luxurious leather sofa of parliament, with Chiam See Tong (CST) enjoying 25 years of MP-ship with his party stagnant for membership renewal and succession and his final showdown with Desmond Lim !! The impasse is still not solved yet.
We sincerely hope that KJ and GMS will be voted in in a grand fashion so as not to be in agony to decide on what they had said and at the same time harboring wishes to stay in as NCMP if not voted into parliament by "the front door but by the back door."...It will be tough swallowing your own 'principled words!' LOL!
Low Thia Khiang is still digesting his 'solid words' when he said his party WP will not take up the NCMP position in 2006
but he relented and put Sylvia Lim as NCMP into parliament through the back door when WP amassed the highest percentage of approx.44% vote in Aljunied GRC !!
Let us "MAKE IT RIGHT FOR SINGAPORE."(how apt the title of JBJ's first book)...in a grand tribute to JBJ..this coming election to vote more oppositions into parliament through the FRONT door rather than the BACK door.
PAP are so artistic to bring many of their MPs through the back door and yet did not want to legalize Section 377A !!...if legalized, then there will be alot of 'legal screwing', LOL !!

Equalization and Normalization in the Internet Age.
Let us not write off James Gomez (JG) with the heading title. He may be our potential MP in the making. SDP for once showed right judgment to include JG in their fold. And sincerely hope he does not be infected by the 'jail-bird' virus !!
BT's paraphrasing is concise...equalisation, normalisation theories and the S'pore context.
Yes! New media has surely revolutionized the playing field of S'pore politics. But only to a minuscule scale of maybe 15% net savvy people. Hence, the impact has yet to cause any alarm for the ruling party. The only advantage is, you are your credibility in disseminating truth or even untruth on the net. As MSM is pro-system, new media is the only source but with limited coverage !
In whatever venture, when you have a headstart...you will dominate the scene better. SDP's website is commendable !! PAP with their financial resource, nothing is insurmountable in the aspect.
The truth of political engagement and 'propaganda' (if I would say that in all political 'warfare. At the end of the day..how well your personal touch is on the ground level. Your 'personality-warm' that can melt the voters' hearts. With your sincerity and promises that once you are voted in, it is carried out systematically...no hot air balloons!!
In S'pore's context of participating politics, opposition will always play second fiddle to the ruling PAP..their systems are entrenched in concrete infrastructural well-planned settings.
PAP's think-tank are a bunch of back-room boys molding policies, even on a trial and error basic (are way ahead of the oppositions) to test the reflexes of the masses. At times they failed miserable but many a times, PAP succeeded. With their logistics and operational advantages..PAP will always be ahead of the opposition in many areas of endeavour..the only consolation to embrace..is in the disenchantment and displeasure of the voters to give the opposition a better chance to squeeze a couple of candidates into parliament. This coming election will be the all mother of election. It is the run of the mill!
All the theoretical writes on any possibilities of opposition even coming close to smell the tail-winds of PAP's 'movements' and emulating (LHL's 'mee-siam with hum...' is a new dish 'idea' to be original). As originality breeds excitement of innovation and implementation.
GRC is PAP's brainchild..and to this day...is the nemesis of the opposition especially..underlying the racial undertone (minority race) of compulsion.
Pragmatism with realism not disunity is the road for opposition to see a little ray at the end of the tunnel. The drilling is most excruciating with a 'steel vault' at the PAP's tunnel end.

Meng Yi, the Maverick Monk (MM)
The modern monk, the modern cheat. After Meng Yi was released from jail for misappropriation and misused of charity funds, he lives it up again. This time to celebrate his release from prison with a lavish gala dinner on 21st Nov (2010) at Pan Pacific Hotel. As a monk who should have followed the 8 precepts, he has transgressed on that to be seen in high places. Not to mention he had failed in his other few precepts of lying and false speech, taking what is not his. And to top it all. Splashed $200,000 for a dinner with his so-called devotees in a grand dinner "sheng zuo dian li" (rise to power). Where does the money come from???
Sad, real sad. Has religion and for that matter Buddhism as propagated by Meng Yi in his context become avaricious.
It is the right time for the Buddhist fraternity to stand up to discipline such a wayward monk. Yes! a disciplinary committee of revered Monks should be convened to let Meng Yi show cause why he should not be defrocked. I am all for it.
Let us uphold the integrity of our society of charlatans and bring back the decency of what the Sangha order should be.
We do not want an individual to tarnish the nobility of Buddhism as professed by Buddha " to walk the middle path". Many of us are walking beyond the middle path into perdition and have no moral courage to stand up for scrutiny.
Self-mortification is the strongest penalty. Has anyone possess that moral courage to do so? Meng Yi please stand out to be scrutinized. As one nun said in the ST today and I quote "He's climbed too far up, and now he has a long way to fall.
Buddha has never rested in peace since he achieved Enlightenment. The modern world is a different entity all together.
Karuna, Mudita, Upekkha and Panna (Compassion, Sympathetic Joy, Equanimity and Wisdom respectively:) are all noble Pali words of Buddha...The modern world of human brings new reversed meaning to it in tandem to the decadent of our society. The sad truth of human delusion, craving, desire and greed.
The Noble Eightfold Path is a discourse to follow with diligence. Mind purification is a tall order. Will meditation help Meng Yi ?? Alas!

Wikileaks bring the world closer to Third World War !
MM Lee Kuan Yew's classified conversation with US Deputy Secretary James B. Steinberg was leaked out by WikiLeaks. Nothing is secret anymore. The world is closer into great controversy and conflict!!
Sure it was an accident...which can be of serious consequences. North Korea might aim a nuclear warhead on our 'little red dot' and ho! that is it...joking lah..there is no such long range rocket to fire it.(patriot is a mid range rocket).
Yes! United States did not betray Singapore directly but should have undertaken greater security to prevent the 'leakage'. If MM Lee had commented on the Muslim world..I guess the repercussion will be more serious. Not forgetting the caricature of Prophet Mohamed and the 'Denmark Connection'.
As of now, world leaders are expressingly worried and are less 'gungho' to be so candid and courageous after this WikiLeaks fiasco.
Only our MM Lee is an exception...always telling other nations how to 'cook a half-boiled' egg...
United States Government (USG) has always acted as the messiah of other nations but the true fact is US hides agendas of greater sinister than the battling nations. Look into the Middle East's protracted conflict of Palestine with Israel, Afghanistan, Iraq and now Iran is on 'a tight noose' to disarm their nuclear programme. Pakistan, with terrorist stronghold, United States Government (USG) is closing one eye on the Pakistanis government !!
To this day USG had never learned their lesson of the long 11 years of protracted war in Vietnam and the US had killed more people during the Vietnam with chemical Orange and untold atrocities of war. In the end US had to withdraw and battered into humility.
The world will be a more peaceful place if USG do not try to 'armlock' other nations and stand up for 'free democracy' of world peace. In true essence..USG have propagated many unnecessary wars and caused many innocent death.
An eye for an eye...brings humanity into the forefront of 'revenge is sweet' and death is an action of a cause...that has forever escalated death in suicide bombers and terrorist attacks. 9/11 is the icing on the cake!!
When will peace be among the 'brotherhood' of Nations but instead tearing each other apart. Only when USG can just mind their own business !! Regards.

Singapore Democratic Alliance (SDP) and their Brand of Politics
Alas! great minds never differ, Bryan! Personally, I never support SDP's cause of taking 'Changi Palace' their second home. Walking in and out feeling unashamed. Is parliament so difficult to enter than Changi??
If SDP wants to emulate Aung Sung Suu Kyi (ASSK)...imprisoned by the Burmese junta for no valid reason then the strategy really backfired for SDP. ASSK did nothing really against the law to be detained in house arrest. The same cannot be said of SDP.
As in all government...they will uphold the law biased towards oppositions. In the same vein, if SDP were the government and PAP provoked civil disobedience, what do you think SDP as government will do...So, all system of government are never fair! PAP will also be locked up in a change of scenario !
It been years, SDP has really never changed their political strategies on how to engage the system in the most 'civilized' manner than lock-horns with the law under the same consequences. SDP's vehemence, has brought about..as Bryan Ti said...oppositions ostracizing them and keeping a discreet distance. True ! has any opposition ever utter a word of support for SDP's brand of 'jail politics!'
In as much as many citizens want a change of government, the truth is, the state of affairs of opposition parties varies so widely , it has become more of a liability than assistance to each other.
Are our oppositions fighting a lost cause even after 50 years of PAP rule??. We must ask ourselves what is happening to the true spirit of political 'healthy engagement' with PAP??
'Pomposity and mindless defiance never made good political fellows !!'
At this juncture of political uncertainty to the oppositions, only WP is seen and believed to be a more credible opposition in the right direction. Where do RP, NSP, SDA, PKMS, SDP and new kid on the block SL compared to ??
AS the GE is drawing nearer and PAP is definitely redrawing the boundary..The Opposition has to stay relevant on their drawing board. To counter-offer the voters with their solid platform and manifestos of change for a better S'pore.
Another 20 years may be a long journey for the oppositions to claim a stake in the politics of S'pore under the absolute iron-fist control of PAP !!

PM Lee tells us next Year's Budget will be 'Good'
Bringing S'pore forward is an absolutely serious matter said PM Lee. And more generous budget and goodies for the citizens. No one will be left behind. S'poreans will come first. And more "affordable" home for the people. All sounded so familiar before the big election every time in the past too.
AS of now...many S'poreans are taking what LHL said with nonchalance. When they returned to power and that will be for sure. It is just a matter of how many more seats PAP will lose this time.
The likelihood for the election will be next March. S'poreans especially the younger generation has, thanks to the internet, are much more aware of the political nuance.
Have the citizens' lives really become better this last few years with the policies of PAP??..all bulldozed down the citizens' throats. The high COL...the ever increase of everything under the PAP kingdom. And to add insult to injury, with SMRT and SBS Transit making money, the government completely altered the lives of senior citizens by doing away with fixed end to end 69 cents travel after computer statistics showed that most senior old folks just travel from end to end...And that is not good for a higher profit for the transport company. So to discourage long single journey, not only the general population but seniors were forced to take transfers to save a little on transport. In the end, not all will benefit from it. And weak and movement difficulty seniors were curtailed and many just stay at home to look at the ceiling board or die of boredom.
That is what PM Lee said, no S'poreans will be left behind. Yes! the young and economically actives are all encouraged to do more. The seniors many with little or no contribution are greatly marginalized and life in S'pore is never "affordable". For the chosen elites and upper echelons of S'pore
everything are truely affordable with their "obscene' high pay.
The poor citizens and all senior poor folks are discarded...will always Pay@Pay....to pay more and more... Singaporeans KNOW TOO WELL NOW how they are being HOODWINKED.
Thank you PM Lee!!! Many things in S'pore are never affordable for many citizens anymore, only for everyone of YOU ministers and your big cannon Guns !!!

The Bing, the Bong and the 'Banned!' on Facebook
The rebuttal between Goh Meng Seng(GMS), Wilson, Roger and Bryan about the bing, the bong and the 'banned' on Facebook(FB)?..Has someone banned me on that?? Normally it will come into my email to alert me..Hence only now then I scrolled upwards to read the 'interesting emotional ' outburst of each and everyone.
Let me give my take on the 'ban and delete' thingie..If we have our 'solid genitals' with us as men, no one should ban or delete a written article ...how can we always hear the good things in life? FB is a portal for strong ideas and argument not a fairytale site for 3 year-old. So if we are to be engaged on Facebook(FB) we must accept every coming.
What individuals can do...if you do not like a person and his writings especially when it bore no relevance to the truth or just 'rojak talk', you can erase his friendship on FB but never delete his comments...Everywhere there is trash..if not National Environment Agency (NEA) will not be sending huge trucks to collect tons of them! That goes with human beings too!!
As long as a person(party) writes with conviction and intellectuality and not 'slip-sloping' himself he will be deemed credible. False accusation and mindless rhetorics is a no-win situation. It only reflects the 'inadeptness' of a person and also will reflect on his character.
At best, we are enlarging our very opinion for everyone to read and understand the connotations and facts not lies and follies on FB! At worst, you are just a charlatan !!
Just stay magnanimous if we can. If we even fail in just a simple act gesture of acceptance in argument on FB..can we really lead a government if the real time comes??..Don't you think this is even a very higher order...when so much brickbats and complaints keep coming in. We will just fail ourselves in totality !! Regards

The Five Beauties of Reform Party (RP)
Kenneth Jeyaretnam (KJ)..you are not using people power but women (feminine power) to softly but deadly kill all those young and matured guys into submission by the supposedly 5 beauties of the RP world. A new party manifesto of ..."Seeing the beauty is... worth voting for Reform Party (RP)".
And here with my inspiration I compose a poem dedicated to the Five Beauties of RP.......may they find their beau...if not hitched yet !
The Five Beauties of Reform Party (RP)
Sitting elegantly in motionless rhapsody
The alluring smile of five beauties
Can be the death of many a man's 'indignity.'
Every gesture of smile is ever so tempting
The coquettish nature of many a feminine
Raise the adrenaline of the weakening man.
Render hopelessly intoxicated is the man
Not by liquor or wine but by the sensuous
Seduction of "Cleopatra"-
The Queen of mystic beauty and charm.
Women oh women!..the nemesis of men
Ever so willing to die in their bosom.

Self-Realization will bring Peace!
The realization of self is the inner awareness of the one force that for me, through so many years of meditation and retreats, it made me a better person in relation to others' needs and demand, truth and untruth, kindness and ill-will, compassion and heartlessness.
We live in a world full of hate and violence but in many place we do find love and benevolence..We live to see the unfolding of the cosmic exuberance in relation to our transient existence. We must live well !

SPP and SDA fading into Political Oblivion !
Bryan Ti has put in the clearest perspective the state of affairs of MP Chiam See Tong (CST). A well-detailed write point by point of CST's follies and political misadventure.
CST is nailing himself deeper into his own coffin. No one is nailing him.
He is clinging to his last breath to hold on to 'his little kingdom'. CST must be too physically and mentally weak to even know what he is doing...Is he falling into his second childhood??
As Bryan pointed out the a vivid picture of CST's S'pore Peoples' Party (SPP) political
ill-ambition, we will just watch by the by-line the unfolding of CST's self-demise.
Desmond has all along did what he is doing for the good of SPP. To be branded and kicked out by the ingrate CST is incredible!!
I will not write too much as everything is covered by my capable BryanTi....his comprehensive write-up of the blunders and follies of CST.
WE leave it to the people to judge from their conscious mind and heart, not sentimentality !
CST can issue statements like this.."In the interest of the S'pore Democratic Alliance (SDA), we must serve our people and country first and not for own self-interest."
GREAT saying LOL!.....as Bryan Ti said..whether I want to laugh or cry !.....What a farcical utterance !
Is anyone out there crying for a cause of delirium in a sad old man !
Heaven forbids !!!

Vincent Wijeysingha's speech at SDP's second Rally
This is a transcript of the pre-election rally speech by Dr Vincent Wijeysingha of the Singapore Democratic Party on 13 November.
Dr Vincent Wijeysingha
My friends,
It is an honour to have the opportunity to address you again, my fellow Singaporeans, who share with me a love and a concern for the future of our country.
You know, I have lived in many places. And everywhere I went, I always came home. Home to our familiar Singlish. Home to mee pok, satay, prata. Home to MacRitchie Reservoir and the East Coast. The beautiful shophouses of Joo Chiat, the grand buildings on St Andrew’s Road. Home to my people. Those of you who have been abroad like I have will know the constant yearning to come home.
But home has stopped feeling like home. For all the PAP accusations that Singaporeans treat our country like a hotel, it is they who have turned us out of our home and then rented it back to us as tenants.
We no longer live in our own country. We live in a strange land, where we are not entitled to share with one another what hurts us and harms our community; where we are disallowed from discussing what needs to be done; where those who speak up are rebuked and accused of treason. Where honest, decent people who work for the welfare of their fellows [sic] are silenced.
But the SDP has refused to be silenced. The SDP has insisted on its right, the right of citizenship, to speak up where things have gone wrong; to tell those in power when they have lost their way; to not pretend not to notice the elderly and weak who are literally cast on the trash heaps of our nation to fend for themselves. To say enough, no more.
We look around us and we are unhappy with what we see. We look around us and have decided that we will not look the other way.
Today, we offer the people of Singapore an alternative vision for our nation. Today we offer the people of Singapore a set of fresh, creative and humane ideas to rejuvenate our nation and make our community live again.
Our party programme has been the result of many years’ work by many dedicated people who have looked deeply into where we are and [where] we might end up if we don’t shift course now. It’s About You is a comprehensive programme that has been costed and tested against the thinking of internationally-renowned academics.
It is a departure from the timeworn, redundant policies of flooding the country with cheap labour, filling every available space with a multinational moneymaking venture, and constantly telling the people to spend and spend and spend. And in the process of doing it, raising the cost of basic services, housing, doctors, school books so that Singaporeans struggle just to keep a roof over their heads, and have to debate whether or not that nagging pain can wait till next month to see a doctor.
This is not a policy we want. This is not a country we want. This is not a future we look forward to.
My friends, at this stage, I want to say something about the SDP’s response to the immigration policy. The SDP is not, and never has been, a racist or xenophobic party. We have always supported the rights of all people and have campaigned that no one’s human dignity should be denied.
The SDP makes a clear distinction between the migrant workers who are in our midst and the highly misplaced immigration policy that is threatening to inundate the island with more people than it can afford, and at a cost to our socio-cultural fabric that has not been assessed in any way. As the party which has shown its commitment to defending human rights, we argue strongly for the rights of migrant workers. But we state very clearly that the PAP’s immigration policy is not only ill-advised but threatens to tear apart the fabric of our community that we have build over these many years.
We look forward to a future where all Singaporeans are safe and cared for. Where all our children have the opportunity for an excellent education; where all our old people can live out their last days in comfort and dignity. This is your right and this is what we demand for you.
Once upon a time, the PAP strove to provide these things. Today, the PAP has utterly and totally lost its way. It has lost the right to tell us that it knows best and does best.
Our alternative vision speaks to your deepest aspirations. Our alternative vision is your vision. I invite you strongly to get a copy for yourself. To find out what we propose and how we’ve arrived at those proposals. To see for yourself that some of our policies have even now been taken on by the PAP. To read the views of internationally-renowned thinkers who support our vision.
Let me share with you some highlights of the programme:
We call for a new, internationally-recognised way of measuring how well the economy is doing from the viewpoint of the people.
We want to see income rebalancing policies like restructuring tax bands, introducing a minimum wage, looking again at the level of GST and removing it from essential goods.
We advocate retrenchment benefits for those who have lost their jobs and are taking time to retrain to re-enter the workforce. After all, not all of us earn enough to save for that rainy day since wages have so significantly declined for ordinary Singaporeans.
We want to see the creation of rooted and sustainable homegrown companies through policies that enhance the capability of our small and medium sector.
We propose reducing the cost of HDB flats to make them truly a public service and not a money-making, profit-oriented concern.
And we propose ways to increase expenditure on education and healthcare to build a healthy, and thinking, dedicated and creative population which can meet the challenges of the 21st century and when it is time to retire, retire healthy and happy.
My friends, with the publication of It’s About You, we say firmly that no longer can the PAP write off the SDP. In fact, the worn-out habits of the PAP are what should be written off as tiresome and pointless. The SDP’s programme offers a constructive and workable alternative, an alternative that the PAP is afraid of, because it has nothing with which to challenge it. It has nothing because with long-time success has come laziness and complacency.
We, the SDP, are not complacent. We place our proposals before you, the people of Singapore and we ask you to coldly, soberly, intelligently, measure them against what has been thrown at us these recent years which have resulted in the structural problems we are facing today. And we ask you to challenge the government, ask what its response is to the SDP.
What is our response to the PAP? We say it is time you went, and went quickly. And leave the government of this country to those who care about it, about its people. About its future. Because It’s About You.
My friends, at this stage, I invite you to join with us, to help us. What you see at this rally has come about through hard work, time, effort and energy. And of course, money. We need your support, at whatever level you can give. Come volunteer with us, join us, support us. Help us to do what you want us to do: To represent you, to speak up for you. To see that it remains about you.
Thank you and good night.

My friends,
It is an honour to have the opportunity to address you again, my fellow Singaporeans, who share with me a love and a concern for the future of our country.
Human Mind and its idiosyncrasies !
William
I like your raising the question today in Dr Ng Yuen Yen class on 'smart aleck' who can
pass certain interview and admitted into the Sangha (monk) order or for that matter any order!
The just news of MOE scholar (Jonathan Wong) is another case in point! A pervert of child pornography with
an intelligent mind! So what is the equation of a person's worth and integrity in our human mind world??
The fact that all human has an 'uncanny mind' is undeniable. The mind can never 'betray'
a person. It is the character after months or even years of close scrutiny then the flaws surfaced.
So, you see, why is TT Durai, Meng Yi, Joshua Kang and the likes never apprehended
earlier until years later. The fact is you can never read their so-called 'noble' mind.....
Psychologist and psychiatrist can do that much ONLY when a case is found to be 'wayward' not before.
Before ..all that is only assessment. And these experts....damned! if they can detect anything
from the human 'SLY' mind. So you see what I mean......
In the Sangha order as in the Vatican, etc...the 'other side of midnight' is a sight to behold !!
Buddha and God in their most rational judgment will never want to create the human race
due to the atrocities and falsity and fallacy of the human mind, hahaha! Remember the simple term
"mind over matter"...it is more than simple. The complexities of the human mind without a
conscience compared to a beast..which survived not through manipulation but beastly
instinct of survival of the fittest. The law of the animal world is a straightforward law.
See how an old lion without good teeth will die because he has lost the dexterity to hunt to keep
him alive....the animal world of natural balance of death and survival. That lion may be killed
by another young lion, tiger or other beast due to his condition for their survival...a 'straight' process. The evolution of the animal kingdom !
Human can never understand the mind of human. Only through mind awareness by meditation
to gain Bhavana (wisdom) is where the human mind can be a knot above other lesser mind.
Mind training is the only way to save the human race from our own self-destruction.
No different from the Sangha order , the Vatican or the other christian fraternities....
Hence Buddha foresaw all the evils of the human mind since his time and through all eternity!
We live to see the unfolding of the heavenly bliss...We live to see our mind mature in meditation
to achieve 'jhana' and be a arahat. We let the world judge us, not us judge the world..It is too big a cosmic entity
of the human race... with the most unfathomable MIND!

Our Modern Generations of Diverse and Violent Youth.
Modern kids, many are spoilt, snobbish, no respect for elders and very defiant, act tough, pseudo-power, everything you can name
them. Nevertheless there are also many who stood up refined and helpful. These are the rare breed indeed!
Moral values and ethics have eroded due to the circumstances of societal challenge. The urgency of parents to provide the best for the family. The norm of both parents working. The employing of maids to look after the children when in the most tender age.
All these had eroded the proper upbringing of kids in S'pore. And the education system of 'elitist' independent schools segregated the seemingly more brilliant youth from their "no so smart" peers. Hence, society breeds characters of 'high and mighty people' like what our present horde of young 3rd generation ministers and MPs. Have 'IQ' but no 'EQ'. What has the government indirectly done to the sons and daughters of Singapore!!
Child Psychologists believe that the first six years of a child's growing up with a least a parent in constant care is important than leaving in the hands of
the maids.
Tougher penalty is a good deterrence against youth violence. I am all for it!!

"Hard-hitting" Criticism if it is True, will make for healthy Reflection
My 'ding dong' Wilson, though you are young, By your writing, if people can see the constructive criticism in your message they would have benefitted plenty. But due to pride and 'pseudo-greatness', thinking they are somebody but in fact in mediocrity and try to project as though they are spokeman and had been with the party for long.
It really leave much to be desired.
A character is a character. When you do NOT see even a little good point in a person's writing and try to be a smart aleck and truely without substance, it makes a world of different to engage the right person in intellectual opinion than wasting time.
I differentiate people like you, Khalis, Kang Rui and even Kevin Teo though young they have the real substance to make it good. People who show no analytical mind but want to be a solipsist is a no-no.
The road is a long journey into the unknown. We humble ourselves to the world of greater knowledge and and higher value. And when there is no value in a product or even in a being, we just ignore and trash it!
Hey! my ding dong pussy....reflect leh...not be too 'hard-hittng', a word I learned from (though it is a misnomer for people to say in the context of my note). Please show respect to JBJ and as I learned again about 'hatred' (tsk, tsk, tsk) and 'let go,' please see into the good of RP for the common cause of rooting PAP from their comfort fortress and give gallant Irene Ho some breathing space lah!
In all honesty, in so far as I do not see eye-to-eye with KJ, especially his 'storm-raiding' of an alliance on SDA (SPP) with the 11 points and the rest became the laughing stock of PAP...intra-party 'bickering and dislocation'.
But Irene Ho is really dedicated to her cause of fighting for the common good of S'poreans..Her effort on many write-ups on FB is testimony of her defiance to her cause...This we must appreciate
not like others who do not even have an iota of substance but using big foreign long words to impress..hahaaha!
When people are really putting in an effort....my Wilson, give them a break. Yes! everyone want to impress (who doesn't, that including me!) but people should know themselves if they really can or not...not riding on other's 'automatic gear'. And how one's past also can catch up with oneself...Never be too arrogant on other's borrowing.
Hey! Mr Sumo (DDP)..haha!..Ok right! better than what I used to call you, ahem!...thanks for that night meeting up with me and had a good jolly time with you on my Milo kosong and you driving me home.
When is our next tea-chat with Bryan...Yar hor! why is Bryan so quiet...must have been shut off by 'kidnappers' who are out to skin him dead or alive...I better check with the ISD ! LOL !

Political Flim-Flams, Dinghies and Paddling Pool
Bryan Ti's perspective of view comes at a time of political 'hara-kiri' of the oppositions especially Singapore People's Party(SPP) . Chiam See Tong (CST) committed that act but he is still alive. Bryan's article on the above prompted me to add my personal perspective on the general scenario on our political opposition front.
I fully concur with Bryan's argument on SDP. Without Dr Chee Soon Juan (CSJ), SDP may not be today for being famous for the right or for the wrong reason. The infamy of SDP is, many of its members had one time or the other became jail-birds. Only yesterday, I was at High Court to hear another case of appeal by CSJ on his illegal assembly without a license. This is the state of affair of the government's authoritarian control. There is no balance of justice. But as of the nature of SDP...being hot-headed, always landed them into unnecessary trouble of the law. Can you beat the system of PAP? Look into the broader areas whereby, SDP can alleviate the lives of Singaporeans. Be a parliamentary bird please!
CSJ strong speech during the party's anniversary is an awakening to the other self-serving parties who only see themselves as worthy of their party not as a whole unity at all. SPP's Chiam See Tong (CST) stood out as the greatest 'flim-flam' that he single-handedly brought up and also bring down. The latest debacle of removing of Desmond Lim (DL) as party ASG is the worst decision ever made by a party head and veteran MP for 25 years. The worst self-serving 'acute-angle' man with no regards to the law of fair-play, loyality and credibility. And CST goes further to want to kick DL out of SDA as secretary-general. But he was out-voted and he even did not show up in the SDA SEC meeting. CST has 'red-carded' himself. And sure, the dinghies in his party circle goes round and round. How sad!
Workers Party(WP)has maintained their noble-silent self...which may or may not be an advantage to them...But generally many see it as a strategic stance worthy of their own credulity. Low Thia Khiang is a season veteran, still young with boundless synergies, together with Sylvia Lim will be a formidable force of a credible opposition. Quiet, yet unassumingly well prepared.
Reform Party(RP) ...has hit it off like wild inferno when Kenneth Jeyaretnam (KJ), trying to move into the wings of SPP to form an alliance..But the events that unfolded revealed a man of poor political vision, over-exerting his authority, as in his 11 point conditions. Hence, the fiasco that perpetuate till now saw no end. And in the end, KJ saw that it does not serve his purpose to associate with a loser in CST, he vamoosed without a no thank you to old man Chiam.
CST is now in political limbo, so to speak. Come 19th Nov, a Political Dialogue will be held at NUS...and CSJ, Sylvia Lim (SL), KJ and CST are invited to participate. But with CST's condition, I guess Chiam will ask his wife Lina to represent him. Notably absent is NSP's Goh Meng Seng (GMS)...not invited.
National Solidarity Party (NSP) has weathered many political storm..Apart from the best showing in 2001 by Steve Chia, at best the party is quite mediocre. It has never risen to the occasion. Now with GMS at its helm as SG....hopefully some political awakening is in the offing, if NSP in contesting Tampines this coming election can skew up Maboh Tan team, he will be hailed as the Minister killer, over-coming a short but crafty National Development minster. Wish you success !
The moment of truth will be in this coming election. How well the opposition parties can perform will be a benchmark set for future strategies to overcome PAP's dominance and SLOWLY BUT SURELY vote PAP out...when the time is met with the right opportune.
And surely we will not like to see the same oppositions floating in the dinghies and paddling in the children's pool ever again and again....

THEOCRACY
THEOCRACY... it is a society ruled by priests who think they are Gods"..(that is The Vatican)...really a technical word as explain in Webster's.
The high and mighty leaders of the world are all..mainly...self-serving intellectual people out to control and to a lesser degree bring about changes to their people but along the way, their policies may kill and even annihilate others or their own kind or extermination of humankind!!
In as much as, as DDP wilson and balaji's in-dept opinion of the various methods of rule of each individual country....be it China, Russia, Germany, Britain...one thing is common in the very nature of humankind, the power to exert authority !
Look not far away...just our very own S'pore...is it not an authoritarian, totalitarian state now under one mighty control of a supposedly great legend of our times. But within the last five years, you just tell me, what is happening to S'pore?..its citizens? and the high and mighty ministars enjoying moments of 'who cares what happen to you citizens' lives" but themselves living in their own elite world of exclusivity.
So...what is the point of arguing history that have always failed us?...Did we learn anything from the holocaust?..Just see the middle-east and America's involvement?? From even the two world wars?....from the Vietnam war...from the very recent American's dastardly conquering Iraq...from the Dalai Lama..professing to be a great spiritual leader but with an agenda of self..to be the supreme 'commander' of Tibet. Do I not see into his inner self? Let his supposedly 'Holy Highness' see into his conscience...Is China really ill-treating Tibetans on the whole compared to the regime of Military junta of Burma?
Let us view the world arena of politics in its true essence. And look at ASEAN...unity of 10 nations...is it not a shame for one of its member country who blatantly 'fraud' their own citizens with its sham election that was nothing more than a 'wayang'(stage) show. Apart from Philippines who strongly issued a statement on the sham of the election....Minister George yeo of S'pore said that Burma's election is better than no election..words from a foreign minister of S'pore...I really must 'salute' him...for earning millions tax payers' salary to say 'masak-masak'. Asean has lost its credibility in its formation as a regional unity with its 'blindfolded' view..meaning no conscious view and morally a coward entity...As you do not like what I say...Asean is a toothless tiger!!
I am here not to argue any points brought forth by wilson or balaji...both have their strong say. What is right? what is wrong?... is just a demarcation of a thin line...like the demilitarised zone of the two Koreas....without due caution can explore into another war..We do not need that on Facebook to argue till "the running dogs go home to their ivory towers". We are here to share wisdom of thoughts and awareness of happenings. For happenings will always be the concomitant factor of our world, our life...We live to see the unfolding of life's 'light and darkness'.
We live to be spectators of a 'football game' seeing '20 fools' running up and down and having the best of life and money, just having fun kicking the ball even our ministers are thinking their salaries are 'peanuts'.....
So...is there an end to comparison of life's idiosyncrasies! Regards.

Dirty Politics!
Politics have a hand to play
Why must politicians never play fair
Every now and then an ugly snare
Not to engage in PAP out there.
Instead stabbing each other nobody cares
The allegation has a common share
Nothing more than the power fare
In the end no one is left in there... (parliament)
And PAP laughing all the way !!

Chiam See Tong an Opposition icon falling out of grace
SPP's Chiam See Tong (CST) has nailed his own coffin..when with sweeping power removed Desmond Lim (DL) from the CEC and stripped him of his ASG. That the cyclic effect of kamma represented itself with instantaneous results.
DL has played along well in this 'charade' and Chiam See Tong (CST) an old horse gasping for breath breathed in the wrong air of Reform Party (RP). And that led him to his ostracism from SDA now. Or more appropriately..CST ostracised his own party SPP.
Now, there is no option left but to fall back on RP. With this RP scenario...though RP is still willing to accept CST's SPP..the bargaining chips are stacked high on RP's table. CST will be at RP's becks and calls. It is a real sad happening to a once great 'single-authoritarian-power-hungry-politician' to fall from grace of his own doing. The day he kicked DL out was the day of his reckoning and ill-judgment. Nepotism is a bond without denying in all political hegemony. But the sad truth is even in the propagation of his political continuation, he is totally blind by the' law of loyalty' to the law of 'holy matrimony' which in this instant..the matrimony asset should well be kept at home to be a homemaker in Lina Chiam.
CST does not have many choices left. And the best of the worst, is to co-opt into RP and hopefully everything will rest in peace literally not in the death sense.
Whatever has been covered by Bryan Ti is a frank scenario of what SPP and CST can do..Beyond that, it will be left to KJ's magnanimity to accept him in to RP. CST's worth is devalued. The worst can ever happen will be at this juncture of political exigency of more 'unity of oppositions' to stand united as a cohesive force against PAP...CST has just nailed his own coffin and doing so, has also caused an 'after-shock' to other oppositions. It will definitely be bad in the eyes of the electorate.
Desmond Lim is having his last laugh...and ever so loud that he may be carried away to early too soon. As a friend of DL my advice is, when someone has fallen whether because of you or because of his own doing...reach out with your willing hand and do not let him hit the dust !!
A sad legacy of a once great but self-centred man falling into his own world of political death through his own handling of many things against his 'conscience'.
Conscience cannot be seen or weigh but will always be a part of many a politician's success or failure... If he betrays his own into a world of egoistic' solipsism against the smooth flow of cosmic exuberance.
CST is now a lost soul and emasculated by the force of 'cause and effect'.....
I am saddened.

Pull no punch...Speak your Mind. Either way people will screw You deep!
Each has his says. Opinions are far ranging...Sincere and truthful thoughts and frank deliberation are better than 'charlatans'..using God's name to fleece and 'con' you for your spiritual being and you will be going to heaven...hahaah! There are many such characters in our midst. All the sycophants of our modern age !! Always the sweet nothings!
My ding dong pussy Wilson ..I like your 'hold no punch ways' and as you said if there are no people like Bryan my LPY around than many shallow minded 'simpleton' will be in for a deep penetration until they really felt they are been screwed inside out..We do not need to be caught unaware...right!
For the last 5 years...many of us are been screwed deep and 'happy' by PAP..so is it any mistake now to scrutinize the right characters into parliament to represent us rather that presenting a false facade of godliness!
Yes! at present Sylvia Lim stood up among many sore thumbs...Earlier years Steve Chia was impressive as a NCMP. And Soon Juan's intellectual self has really gone beyond the politics of S'pore...which is not so applicable in S'pore's political culture....I can say that because ..myself have attended many of Soon Juan's gathering to understand him as a person.....
PAP and MSM had an agenda on him all along. In fact SDP has spreaded out their wings further and I can see a few intelligent youth wing personnel in SDP. The court should discharge Soon Juan and Siok Chin of bankruptcy and let them contest in this coming election...I believe they will make it good into Parliament !!!
We are all armchair critics, but even so we must possess some intellectual brilliants to argue our points across. Failing which... silence will not make a fool out of you, if you don't say anything.
A saying goes ...'You are entitled to be stupid but please do not abuse the privilege'...LMAO...hahahaah!

On Love, Romance with the Wolves, Breakup, Hate & How to Let Go!
As a volunteer para-counsellor I give you my 007 cents worth of thought. Personal emotion and love is subjective. As you said..no matter how he sneezed into your face, it is better than someone's kisses. Love has lost its sensation by the way you described it!
When that happens, the very sweet tender love you envisage and yearn all the time just come in sensational sneezes, where is the romantic craving anymore?...Definitely, something is very wrong. No man is an island nor a woman a stream !
When relationship sours, the emotional attachment will still lingers on and on, at least for a couple of months before one takes stock of oneself and really return to face the reality of.. hey! I need to move on, not dwelling in self-pity.
The letting go part will be a lot harder. Each night, you will just stay awake to fantasize the sensuous moments to moments. The ecstasy of love's intimacy! When love turns to hate, nothing can justify one's agony of reject, of breakup, of desolation, of emptiness. Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn and emotional sadness of lost love !!
At this juncture, it is self-over-emotional hate. Nothing is easy when the fallout is that 'heart-shattering' and 'heart-breaking' especially it is a 'recurrence' of another break-up. The death of emotional entanglement !
" Love may be a temporary madness, it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined that it is inconceivable that you should ever part." - Sir John Betjeman; English poet.
Take a hold on yourself at this most vulnerable moment. As a lady, your weakness in love will always be the joy of lustful men. Men never lose out on love, only women. Please stay rational and calm.
The true sadness of life is not you lose your love. The true sadness of life is when you lose your soul to the devils and forever regret that love is never a splendour thing ! You become a playmate.
To all the girls I love before..and many walk out from the door - Julio Iglesias...(Ber..you sent me this punchline from Dubai!)....

Still a Tall Order to Engage in the Politics of PAP ?
HAHAHAAH!!! are you serious talking about students, Irene Ho?? I thought we
are in a more mature business of talking about 'life and death', 'an empty or a full stomach', of the 'rich elites and the poor miserables'...the suffering citizens in our midst??
So nice of you Irene to tag your article to me...The political culture of S'pore is so dismal. Our oppositions are all poor 'church mice'. PAP has capitalised on many of our weaknesses to strategize to their advantage.
It never helped that many pseudo 'selfish & self-centred' opposition personels will eternally sit and hoard the highest chair..with
elephant glue at their bottom. Power everywhere, no different in opposition camp!
Succession plan is in inertia. Singapore Peoples' Party(SPP) is a case in point. Chiam See Tong's (CST) 'swam song' by bringing in a mature goose will not help. This will be CST last and most unforgettable sad exit of his political long endurance of "self nobody but self"! Where are all his good stalwarts??
This election may be a watershed. But the oppositions are not capitalising on its significance. PAP now has many sleepless nights to try all their rhetorics to try to win back more votes. They know very well what they have done to the citizens! their draconic policies of forever transforming the demographic landscape of S'pore into a foreign setting...Only on this point...majority of citizens will not buy into their lies and more lies.
We are counting the moments of moments...and PAP will unfold some 'invertebrate new candidates' of scholastic 'big-hole' calibre but empty in their EQ !! Always easy to ride the smooth surf and just as easy jumping on the bandwagon !
We know how tough it is to recruit quality candidates for the opposition.
Hence I salute all those true vertebrates who without fear join the opposition to fight this coming battle of all 'grandfather's (MM LKY) battle. PAP will lose two GRC and maybe 3 SMC (not including the current two SMC).
In the true spirit of 'wacking' the PAP..I hope Lina Chiam can retain PP for CST. May be a little up the gradient....Sitoh is now dancing with the wolves!!...all for waiting to take over Potong Pasir...Take heed Lina Chiam..your days of reckoning is to be unveiled in this coming election.
We all wish you every success!!
We will never able to shake all the rotten apples from the PAP's tree; in the same vein, in the oppositions...Another 10 years ..maybe 15 years...then most "eyes will be wide shut" !! We all will pray for our children and children's children well-being in a foreign land Singapore!! Heaven forbids.

Is the Darken Road ending with a Cul-de-Sac ?
"A darken road has no bearing." To beat 'adieu' is a total lost even before one gets started. To stay and fight on with too many
uncertainties is like shooting a six-shooter at a Russian tank!
Nevertheless PAP is a 'wear and tear' Russian t...ank now with fatigue metal parts to be 'explored' at the right moment!!
JBJ was a classic example of a one-man crusade against the Russian tank and initially vanquished the PAP at Anson and made the first MP of the opposition. The rest was History until JBJ became a victim to be annihilated with all sort of lawsuits one after the other till he was spent and bankrupted. He lost his MP seat. He died a fighter.
May not be able to say much about RP party with son KJ at the helm now. We shall see the unfolding of a Shakespearean "Macbeth"
Subsequent years of 'political extermination' of good and strong individual opposition candidates saw a decline of the will of people and PAP has never looked back.
This coming election will be the 'grandmother' of all elections. My prediction is PAP will lose at least two GRCs and another 3 SMC (excluding PP and Hougang).
An awakening is in great exigency. We as citizens of S'pore are to brave for that change or we shall be forever under the totalitarian rule of the capitalist elites of a minority over the oppressed majority.
We 'fight' and cast our right VOTE for a quality of life for all in EQUALITY.
Let us exercise our WISDOM of choice NOW !!!

A comment by Wilson Ho on what it takes to be a real Human Politician
Democracy is just a "word" a politician or party used as a mean to their end.
At the end of the day, it is the character of the person in office that interprets "democracy" in his/her persona. So in the true sense of the word... there's really no democracy.
Go back to a monarchy anytime, insofar we have a magnanimous human king.
Although this sound too cruel and pragmatic, the seat of the government should go to the person or party, who seeks to advance the interest of ALL and not just the majority.
In my views, one who believes strongly in consensualism would be the best person of the job, whereby even the minority's interest are not compromised or threaten.
Singapore cannot even to have a leader who is not pluralistic in views because we have simply too many different interest groups. Even among chinese, we are divided by dialects and ancestral "villages". Therefore the leader or party must be the cohesive and collective agent for all. In part PAP is successful in doing so but through elements of "divide and rule" creating unseen boundaries within the races. What I believe is in a blurred boundaries, whereby it overlaps each other, and only in that can the entire nation be woven and moved in one singular working block.
What communist, socialist, liberal, green, black, grey!
Any ideologies that do not ground its "theology" in human is useless.
Human, must be the centre of politics. Human, must be the moving factors for policies. Human must be the THEOCRACY of politic whichever brands it carries.
This is a comment posted by WILSON HO on one of my links on Facebook.

Health 'Ministar' Khaw Boon Wan and His $8/- Medical Bills
Health Minister Khaw only paid $8/- after his heart-bypass surgery due to medical insurance. He can say it with great ease! With his exorbitant pay, any kind of medical insurance with cover him. And he did not divulge or tell us he is entitled to A1 class in hospitals FREE as a government 'servant'.
He paid a token $8/- is so ironic. Mr minister, you cannot compare 'abalone with cockles' (you being the abalone of society). Talk is easy. Who cannot talk. My grand daughter at one and a half year old talks very well too though with limited vocab.
What the government should do is to really subsidise the poor to insure them for more on Health and Medical insurance. We all know that nowadays medical bills are a 'killer' in itself, not the sickness.
Liberate our Medisave for more use on outpatient consultation. Why hold our Medisave in our CPF only for severe illness. By then many of us will not see the living daylights!!!Those who are healthy and have surplus in their Medisave account with no major medical conditions that do not need surgery should be given an option to use their Medisave on outpatient payments on medicines in Polyclinics. Many old and destitute folks really find it tough to pay for the medicine and consultation charges in outpatient clinics.
Have a heart Khaw Boon Wan...though you had your heart-bypass. Your heart is still there! With your 'higher echelon' of life, (please do not compare 'abalone with cockle again. PM Lee Hsien Loong will like some cockles for his mee-siam, hahaha!) medical bills are never in your mind. But I sincerely wish you to live a healthy and empathetic life for the poor citizens of S'pore. I am a 'poor' man too. I am healthy but my Medisave account is locked for 'DEATH not FOR LIFE'...if you know what I mean...Give everyone of us a better deal on our own money of Medisave savings.
A good scenario is when a terminally-ill cancer patient dying and have only one month to live. His/her medisave account long depleted. He has a minimum sum savings there sitting waiting to be used when he reaches 65 years in monthly instalments...My God!...he is dying now and cannot use his so called minimum sum money to assist his predicament now! Where is the rationale ??
What the CPF and government will do is when he is dead...paper money will be burned as 'Hellnotes' to him to live a rich life in Hell. How sad? In life we cannot use our real money !? Do our government have a heart? And our Mr Khaw had just mended his heart for $8/-. LMAO !

LMAO !

Work till Thy Kingdom Cometh
Today's 93.8 FM News (25.10.2010) on France passing a law to have citizens to retire at age 62 years officially. Official retirement age was 60 years since 1982. With this law passed...the country is in turmoil now...with strikes in many places. The citizens are not happy for the change.
In Singapore we have very 'well-mannered' and 'kwai-kwai' citizens that never give the government any problem. Our official retirement age will go up to 65 years! S'pore has become a First World country to really assist the citizens to work till 'thy Kingdom come'. No money, no talk.....work or die....MM LeeKuanYew is still working hor! at 87....but he is the exception not the norm, LOL!
I want to work with my age ...but..the employer or HR department always ask..How old are you?...When I reveal my age...Sorry sir..you are not within our age range...Being courteous to say that...than throwing cold water into my face..."You are too old, man!"
Government and SEF (S'pore Employers Federation) are all 'Lip-Service
and (Chairman of the Council for the 3rd age) Lim Boon Heng has many 'lips'..like a chicken's...just open and close like a chicken's 'croaka'(backside)

The Good Quality of a Political Party.
Everyone can be a politician. There is no strict criteria or qualification into the uncertain world of politics. The only certainty is how you can manipulate yourself against your opponents to stay 'relevant' to your cause. Joining a credible political party is the first step to 'stardom' as in the candidates of PAP. Instant fame and fortune without lifting a feather !!
Another alternative is to form your own political party. And you are the instant chairman. secretary-general or whatever title and name you want to give to yourself. That is called self-imposed title power.
A political party is only as good as the voters vote you in. Hence PAP is that good for 50 years. It does matter what method or ways they used to hold on to power and indoctrinating the citizens to keep on voting for them. They must really have a stranglehold on all the other parties. As power is consolidated, other areas of strategic planning and mopping up is constantly evolving. And one of the most intrinsic process is succession by renewal. PAP is given top marks on that. Hence the hegemony of PAP dominance and perpetuation to this day after 50 years in power.
A sad look at Opposition political parties. 'Dissipated' membership, lacking in strategic planning, most have no succession plan. The 'chief' always hold fort till his last breath . SPP is one such party. After 25 years of ruling Potong Pasir, the one and only Chiam See Tong (CST) wedged sole power on his party members that no one is even worth a mention. Until all the skeleton started falling from the closet then CST's protege, ironically became 'famous' with the infamy of internal bickering and 'power relegation' and nepotic succession. In the end Desmond Lim became too famous to be retained and was ousted as ASG from SPP CEC. Now the fight is on to oust him from the SDA secretary-general's (SG) position. That is the politics of Opposition ''party of disunity and void of cohesion'. At a time when the true focus should be a cohesive effort to strategize the opposition platform on how to win a few seats in parliament.
In as much as Singapore need a change of government. It will take tremendous effort for all the opposition parties to come to terms towards unity and consolidation. PAP has never felt so threatened as they are now. The ground is much more level in terms of engaging PAP. The grouses and dissatisfaction of the citizens have never been that bold and vociferous. PAP knows too well what they are in from this coming election.
But, opposition parties are not really capitalizing on this aspect instead SDA is brought to the forefront of news through press release and counter-denial and accusation all in the name of Opposition dis-unity. So, is that called 'good qualities of a political party'.
PAP maintains their status quo and is considered having the good qualities of a political party. (without looking at their failings lately to the citizens of Singapore).
It will take many many years to build up a formidable good opposition party or parties to really vote PAP out into oblivion. WP and SDP is not even 50 percent of the strength of what PAP is. So, can we call our Opposition parties having the quality of 'good' or just 'looking good'??
